i remember when i was a coorperr...
Now first things first, these guys are called corp members.
Eight years ago was when i had my own experience.
Passing out parade.
mine was special.
Infact, i am such a rare breed no one contest...#wink wink...
any way, its not about me but this set of corp members passing out today.
I was one of the 5 best corp members in the FCT batch b set 2004.
The award was a donation of N50,000 and a job offer.
Yeah, a job offer.
As a theatre art major, i was told i would be attached to the ordely or aides of the then minister of the fct, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
I had another choice, to pursue a career in broadcasting with a guarantee of London trainings
You guessed right.
I chose the British council's offer as against the minister's.
So my concern today is how many of these corp members have these options?
I also hear there will be no parade for the batch C corp members in the FCT.
These guys are victims of our time.
They would not enjoy the glitz and glamour i did during my time.
what does that say of them? do they feel like they miss something? They
might not be aware of what they miss but we pray they do not miss the
many more opportunities that come with serving your country.
Gee Wende is passing out today,...or do i say is collecting her certificate today? These smiles exude hope, confidence and excitement. Here is praying that Nigeria is proud of her and serves her the right dish as she steps out of this uniform.
Peace to Nigeria indeed Miss Jande. As you pass out today, may good doors open for you. Peace will lead the way for you in Nigeria.
Chenemi looks cool calm and collected, but again with a mischievous 'Are you ready for me' look for Nigeria.Stories abound about the plight and mishaps of young women in today's generation.
This is wishing the society is ready for you dearie.
Jennifer Ugela has a question for mr President. Drop it like its hot babes thats what i see beyond your smile here. You never know, he just might answer you.
Miss Jando below has a mien so unbeatable. She would step out and live her dreams. She looks like she would not be stopped.
Wao! Dont blame me i have only ladies here.
Quick advise though, y'all go out and doo that which you love best to do. Thats the secret of true joy. Its not usually found but trust me. Ply your trade, your talent and skill work the most like magic. So you can be an employer of labour and not wait to be employed.
Mwuaaah! step out and live your live.
Welcome to Nigeria!
Put your lighters up girls!
and choose to be boundless.
One love.
