AT 46, Janet Jackson setting record

Janet Jackson’s Billionaire Fiance Rips Up Prenup And Gurantees Her $500 Million If

MICHAEL JACKSON’S sister Janet did not put off her New Year’s Eve wedding because of cold feet but because of cold cash, a friend has revealed.
The singer was due to marry Arab multi-billionaire Wissam Al Mana but their lawyers could not organise the prenuptial agreement in time. This is no small matter as twice-married Janet has amassed a fortune of £93.5million from 10 hit albums and six major tours while Wissam is one of the richest investors in the Middle East where he represents such fashion and style icons as Hermes and Sonia Rykiel. He is also a major shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait.
“Janet will be marrying into the sort of wealth not even her brother Michael managed to amass during his lifetime of success,” said her friend. “She’s looking forward to a fairytale life with Wissam.”

Spielberg’s Robopocalypse ditched?

Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse postponed ‘indefinitely’

Steven Spielberg’s Robopocalypse has been shelved ‘for an indefinite time’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sci-fi epic was tentatively scheduled for a 2014 release, and had Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw attached to star.

Martin Levy, Spielberg’s spokesman, called the project “too important, and the script is not ready, and it’s too expensive to produce. It’s back to the drawing board to see what’s possible.”

It’s not clear what Spielberg’s next project will be, but the director is currently riding on a high, with Lincoln the front-runner for awards success. The presidential biopic leads the 2013 Bafta nominations with 10 nods, and is expected to be equally celebrated in the Oscar nominations which are announced today.

While we’d never turn down the opportunity to see a huge-scale actioner directed by Steven Spielberg, we’ve always been a bit put off by that virtually unsayable title.

Whatever Spielberg does next - historical biopic, grand-scale adventure, documentary on potato farming - you can guarantee we’ll be at the front of the queue. Heck, even his re-releases (Jurassic Park in IMAX 3D!) are more exciting than your average multiplex fodder.
Are you sad to hear that Robopocalypse has been postponed?

WHO TAKES IT AWAY?

...as Lincoln leads the way with 10 nominations

The 2013 EE Bafta award nominations have been announced this morning, with Lincoln, Les Misérables and Life Of Pi leading the field.

Spielberg’s presidential biopic is the most-nominated title, with 10 nominations in total, including Best Film and Best Leading Actor. Les Miserables and Life Of Pi are both up for nine gongs apiece.

Skyfall looks a shoo-in for Outstanding British Film, while Ang Lee and Quentin Tarantino will duke it out with Michael Haneke for Best Director.

Silver Linings Playbook can boast nominations for both Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, while Ben Affleck could complete a double win with nominations for both his acting and directing on Argo.

10 things you didn't know your phone could do

Had to bring this to the boundless people i know...

From monitoring your heart rate to matching paint colours, you'll be surprised how many things 'there's an app for'.

From heart monitors where you place your finger on screen to apps that unlock your car, these are the ten best that you’ve probably never heard of…
1. Match paint colours
Want to paint your walls the same colour as your duvet – or replicate a colour you’ve seen somewhere else in your own home?
Well, ditch the Dulux catalogue and download the paint manufacturer’s free Let’s Colour Studio app on your iPhone instead.
All you then do is take a photo and let the app find the colour for you.
For £1, you can order a tester sample to make sure paint shade is just right.
2. Use your phone as a spirit level
Want to make sure the shelves you put up aren’t sloping?
Don’t rummage around your toolbox – grab your phone.
The free iHandy level app, available on iPhone and Android, is even better.
Just place your handset on the item you want straight and it works in the same way as a traditional spirit level, using the phone's accelerometer.
However, it also measures the degrees precisely so you can get it bang on zero easily.
3. Start your car
Fed up of going out on cold mornings and having to shiver as you drive off to work?
Well, download the Viper Smart App - on either an iPhone, Android or BlackBerry – and you won’t have to.
You'll need to have attached a Viper SmartStart system to your car's electronics, but the free app lets users unlock the car and turn the ignition remotely.
The app and SmartStart system also lets you track the vehicle’s movements – handy if you have teenage children borrowing your car.
