HERE'S AN EXCERCISE REALITY CHECK...

hmmnn...exercise...OK
so i have registered for the 2nd  year at the gym and there are just moments i find myself there
As the year winds down i am here asking myself, especially as one of my favourite people asked me today...aunty Alu are you pregnant?...
I wasn't drinking anything so i didn't choke but then it got me thnking...
And this is what i came across...i should...

One mistake is to choose a form of exercise based on
a) what your friend recommends,
b) what kind of change to your body you want to see,
c) what is the fashionable form of exercise.
It’s helpful to consider these factors, but in the end, we’re far more likely to stick with an exercise routine that suits our nature and our schedule. Read more after the cut..

No excercise? Change Your Thinking

If you’d rather scrub the bottom of your kitchen trash can than exercise, you’re not alone. For millions of people, doing things like jogging, lifting weights, or taking a workout class has no appeal at all. So how do fitness experts get exercise-haters to break a sweat? It comes down to a simple mind trick. “Put aside the concept of exercise as a deliberate, regimented activity that takes place in a gym and requires special clothes and focus on moving more in ways that are either fun or almost effortless,” says Emily McCavanagh, AFAA, owner of Fitness Inspired Training in Boston. Here, she shares some of her favorite strategies for inspiring anyone to get moving and learn to like, or even love, being active.

1. Wear Clothes With Give
On days when you don’t have to dress for work, put on sneakers and sweats or yoga pants first thing in the morning. This simple habit can make a huge difference in how often you move. (Ditto for a sports bra, or at least a bra that provides decent support.) Anytime you have an opportunity to bend, stretch, or jump, you might actually do it—rather than think about how you might do it if only you weren’t wearing snug jeans and flimsy sandals.

2. Try Out Your Kid’s Toys
Admit it, you’ve recently eyeballed a trampoline, slide, or scooter and considered giving it a whirl. Whether you’re at the playground or in your backyard, follow through on the urge to play when it hits you. Let’s say you were to pick up a jump rope and hop for 10 minutes (not necessarily in a row). You would end up burning as many calories as if you ran three miles! But never mind that, just jump as long as it feels fun.

Fighting that Belly Fat

Fruits and vegetables

All fruits and vegetables, due to their rich nutrient and fiber content, help to combat chronic inflammation, so make sure to include adequate amounts of these foods daily. Some types of fresh produce, however, are even more potent than others.
Some terrific anti-inflammatory fruits and vegetables to include in your meal plan include apples, berries, broccoli, mushrooms, papaya, pineapple, and spinach.

Green tea

This mild beverage is great for helping shrink your waistline as well as for decreasing inflammation. The flavonoids in this tea have natural anti-inflammatory properties. And the compound EGCG in green tea has been shown to help reduce body fat.

Monounsaturated fats

These heart-healthy fats help raise your healthy HDL cholesterol levels and reduce overall inflammation. Great sources include olive oil, almonds, and avocado.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Research has shown that a diet with a high percentage of omega-3 fatty acids and a low percentage of omega-6 fatty acids has been linked with decreased inflammation. Food sources of omega-3s include walnuts, flaxseed, and fish, such as wild Alaskan salmon.

Spices

Certain spices, including garlic, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and chili peppers, have potent inflammation-reducing capabilities, so try adding them to meals as often as possible.

Water

Staying hydrated is essential to flushing inflammation-causing toxins out of your body. Aim for 64 ounces of water per day. Remember: Add an additional 8 ounces of water for every 30 minutes of exercise as well.

Whole grains

Rich in fiber, whole grains help control the insulin response in your body. The high B vitamin content of whole grains also helps reduce the inflammatory hormone homocystine in the body.

The woman behind Wande Coal.

Yeah...its the wizzy!!!

Indeed for every successful man, there is always a woman, and behind the downfall of everyman too, there will always be the traces of a woman, or so they say. Believe or not, it is what it is.

In the instance of sensational Marvin Records superstar, Wande Coal, there is a woman who is the solid rock behind his musical relevance and that's his mother, Mrs. Omolara Ojosipe. She recently had a brief chat with Alonge Michael where she reluctantly revealed how she nursed Wande Coal to stardom.

How did you nurse Wande Coal to stardom?

WONDERS OF LEMON WATER YOU SHOULD KNOW

Green or yellow, lemons are lemon and have the same effect. Just don't mind the taste...awwwww...

Smoothies can be packed with protein; pre-workout energizers, hydrators, and post-workout recovery accelerators can deliver performance-enhancing nutrients; herbal teas can soothe or energize — all of these beverages have a functional purpose to meet specific wellness needs. And then there’s a less obvious, simple, blender-free drink that serves a mighty wellness-enhancing purpose. Providing more than just hydration, fresh lemon juice and water can deliver surprising benefits.
Starting every morning with a glass of warm lemon water is actually a ritual in Ayurveda or Yogic traditions, used to stimulate digestion for the day and clear the body of any toxins that may have settled in the digestive tract overnight. While it is tricky to apply the strict burden of evidence expected by Western science to traditional practices (often called “folk medicine”) that originated long before modern medical science standards were developed, research on the nutritional elements found in lemons suggests the numerous health benefits traditionally associated with drinking fresh lemon water daily may have merit.
We tend to reach for those warm beverages in the morning like coffee and tea, but try starting your day with some warm lemon water first to kick-start digestion. The water doesn’t always have to be warm, but it should be purified. Simply use half a fresh lemon per large glass of water or to taste and sip throughout the day. On a simple level, fresh lemons take plain old water up a notch. Here are 5 health benefits of drinking lemon water that elevate drinking it for reasons beyond just taste:
  1. Support immune function: Lemons are high in antioxidant vitamin C, known for its supportive role in healthy immune function1,2 which may reduce the risk of respiratory infection3. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) found in lemons demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects, and is used as complementary support for asthma and other respiratory symptoms4,5. Lemons also contain saponins6, which show antimicrobial properties that may help keep cold and flu at bay. Last but not least, ascorbic acid enhances iron absorption in the body; iron plays an important role in immune function7.
  2. Alkalize the body: Although the tartness of a lemon may make them seem acidic, lemons are actually one of the most alkalizing foods for the body. Lemons contain both citric and ascorbic acid, weak acids easily metabolized from the body allowing the mineral content of lemons to help alkalize the blood.
  3. Aid digestion: Citrus flavonols8 are believed responsible for lemon’s traditional use as a digestive tonic. Believed to stimulate and purify the liver, lemon juice is traditionally understood to support digestive hydrochloric acid in the stomach further aiding digestion. Vitamin C status has been associated with reduced risk of peptic ulcers caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori9.
  4. Clear skin: Vitamin C and other antioxidants in lemons combat free radical damage. Free radical damage — especially as caused by UV exposure and environmental toxins — is responsible for many symptoms of aging. Antioxidant intake can help offset this damage, minimizing wrinkles. Further, lemon juice can be applied topically to scars and age spots to help reduce their appearance. Traditionally used as a liver stimulant, lemon water is also believed to help purge toxins from the blood, helping to keep skin clear of blemishes.
  5. Promote healing: Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), found in abundance in lemons, promotes wound healing, and is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of healthy bones, connective tissue, and cartilage10. As noted previously, vitamin C also displays anti-inflammatory properties. Combined, vitamin C is an essential nutrient in the maintenance of good health and recovery from stress and injury.
Wao! lets go there. Lemon here i come...
Yes, thank me later...***

FUN TANTRIC EXCERCISE-LETS GO THERE

What do you know about our topic today?
Or rather, what do you know about it that doesn’t involve rumors of Sting’s 24-hour marathon sex sessions with wife Trudie Styler? I didn’t know much either—so I turned to the experts to find out more:here are my findings...

WHAT TANTRA IS…AND ISN’T

Born in India over 6,000 years ago, the practice of Tantra has to do with much more than sex. Tantra practitioner Matthew Stillman explains, “In the sacred Indian texts the purpose of Tantra (in its overtly sexual and non-sexual forms) is for spiritual awakening, enlightenment, moksha or freedom. That might be outside the experience or language of many people, so a more secular approach might be to help discover and nourish all parts of you and using sexual energy as a door toward that.”
