BREAKFAST MISTAKES WE SHOULD KNOW.

Had to be bring this here guys...enjoy

We know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but what we don't know about the morning meal could inadvertently be packing on the pounds! Health expert Dr. Lisa Davis, Vice President of Scientific and Clinical Affairs at Medifast, exposes 15 of the biggest breakfast no-nos.

1- Think Before Your First Bite

When coworkers bring in treats, the office can become a calorie trap. Davis' advice? "Stop, get centered, take a deep breath, and focus on your health goals," she says. Which is better: the taste of a muffin or the feeling of reaching your goals?

 2.
Don't be Fooled by Juice

You may think that gulping down a glass of OJ is a great way to start your day, but many store-bought varieties are packed with sugar. "A healthy serving of orange juice is about as much as you could squeeze out of one orange," Davis says. "A better idea may be to have a glass of water and eat the orange itself: Whole fruit offers you all the vitamins and minerals of the juice, along with tummy-filling fiber that can help tame hunger pangs until lunch."

GETTING YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IN TOP SHAPE

With cold and flu here already, the best thing we can do for our bodies is to get our immune system in the top shape it deserves. Here are some fun ways...foods to eat actually.

Tip: Look for foods that are rich in color — that’s a surefire sign that they’re also high in immunity-boosting antioxidants. Red, yellow, purple, blue, and orange fruits and vegetables really fit the bill here don't they? Lets go dia...

1. Sweet Potatoes.
Sweet potatoes owe their orange hue to beta-carotene, an antioxidant that the body converts into Vitamin A, an essential nutrient for fighting against disease. Sweet potatoes are actually one of the best fresh sources of immunity-boosting properties out there. Dont ask me about the white coloured ones...i shall come back to tell you. But for now, when you get to the market, get these ones.

DID YOU MISS THE ABUJA CARNIVAL TOO...? SEE?

Dear readers,
No excuse can or should be made for the people that put together this event. You do not do such an event without proper press coverage. Ask ten people in Abuja and they would ask when the event is taking place. Except of course if the troupes were in your way.
It is obvious that this magnitude of was made for a select audience but really, should it be so?
It raises so many more questions. I would have thought more money could be generated for everyone from this event. i make bold to say what happened in the FCT in the name of a carnival had a few people come together and exploit the government purse.
Who benefited from this carnival? When a carnival is staged, there are many things to expect.
There should be expectation that the Carnival will bring a mini boom of sorts in the revenue it generates.
Hotels should have been smiling away too but because this is the FCT, i doubt if they can say patronage was significant because of the carnival.
At the other end of the scale, vendors, caterers, craftspeople and small business operators have been consistently complaining that they too saw smaller and smaller pieces of the Carnival pie.
There are lessons to be learnt from this years' event now that the carnival has come to stay. The organisers should do better PR. And if their argument was that they did, then maybe they should have entrusted the PR job to trusted hands.
Learn a lesson from the Calabar festival Carnival. I already see their promotions everywhere. Trinidad and Tobago has remained steady on the Carnival graph and they make good news about it.
Over all, i think this year's outing was below average.

Your's sincerely in service,

Al MOSES

HERE'S AN EXCERCISE REALITY CHECK...

hmmnn...exercise...OK
so i have registered for the 2nd  year at the gym and there are just moments i find myself there
As the year winds down i am here asking myself, especially as one of my favourite people asked me today...aunty Alu are you pregnant?...
I wasn't drinking anything so i didn't choke but then it got me thnking...
And this is what i came across...i should...

One mistake is to choose a form of exercise based on
a) what your friend recommends,
b) what kind of change to your body you want to see,
c) what is the fashionable form of exercise.
It’s helpful to consider these factors, but in the end, we’re far more likely to stick with an exercise routine that suits our nature and our schedule. Read more after the cut..
