Blue Ivy has a new playmate!
Kelly Rowland gave birth to a baby boy named Titan Jewell Witherspoon on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. PT, People confirmed. He weighed in at 7.5 pounds.
"We are thrilled to announce that today we are the proud parents of our first son," Rowland said in a statement to the magazine. "We are blessed to report everyone is healthy and happy!"
This is the first child for Rowland, 33, and her husband (and manager) Tim Witherspoon, who wed in a super small ceremony on May 9 in Costa Rica. One month later, the newlyweds announced they were expecting.
The Destiny's Child singer shared a photo of some adult sneakers next to kid-sized kicks, with the caption: "I'll be stuntin like my daddy....."
Last month, Kelly gushed about how ready she was for motherhood.
"I'm excited to bring a child into the world, and sharing that experience with my husband is probably the most beautiful part," she told Elle. Kelly also proudly flaunted her grown belly by posing nude for the magazine.
"I don't know why they would get flack [for nude photos]," she exclaimed. "It's really — I won't say amazing — it's Godmazing [laughs] watching your body carry a human. I took a birthing class and I was amazed by all the things this woman was saying to me about birthing and what the body does naturally. Why wouldn't you want to celebrate that? The body should be celebrated."
So what kind of mother does Kelly plan to be? Will she pull a Kim and Kanye and take her little one to fashion or award shows?
"I just plan to play it by ear," Rowland replied. "Everybody has their normal. And sometimes, award shows are a part of that. I have girlfriends who have that experience, and they'll say 'You know, I just really didn't want to be without my child today.' And it's just that simple. It's about finding your normal, whatever that may be."
As for Kelly's game plan after giving birth, she shared the best piece of advice she got from a girlfriend (Beyoncé?) with The Insider recently.
"I feel like there is a new generation of mothers who just want to bounce back. The best advice I have recently gotten was actually from a girlfriend of mine. She said, 'You know, the best thing to do is focus on that husband,'" Rowland said."You got the baby, but focus on your husband just to make sure he is happy because now you have two babies."
