Its day 45 since the Chibok girls were allegedly kdnapped from their school in far away Borno state. Chibok has become an international recognition now only in bad light. There has been unending turns and twists in this reality drama that make every one eager to know the end. First and foremost, we have no idea how many girls were really abducted so its always safer to say over 200 girls were abducted. The alarmists will say about 300...that could also be correct.
One figure we are sure is the number of girls who are said to have returned to their parents due to ill health. I worry they might be pregnant(?) God i hope not! This week, the four released girls made it to a total of 57 girls returned. While many are skeptical on the nature of the abduction, Many others believe there is more politics going on here than abduction. I also brought the account of Haruna Sakidi the journalist who has links...or do i say contacts? with the BH guys. He had made the move to mediate between the government and the BH guys but no! The president talked tough and chose to the way of the international community...NO NEGOTIATION WITH TERRORISTS!
Some of us were super excited when the military came out to say they had located the girls. But then there were also reports of the presidency not been happy with the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, who considered it a breach capable of hindering the recovery of the children from their abductors. The number one defence man has however come out to defended his claim on May 26 that the Nigerian Military have discovered the location of the over 200 missing girls held hostage by Boko Haram insurgents.
We gathered from NAIJ.COM that Competent sources told Vanguard that the CDS whose competence has been questioned in recent times said his announcement was necessary before other countries to give the assurance that it was capable of tackling the rising wave of insurgency. The source said: “If the Americans had made the breakthrough, it would have been the end of the Nigerian Military and the President, as Commander-in-Chief, knows that he must show and have confidence in the capacity and competence of his troops.”
According to findings, it was due to the explanations made by Badeh that the Presidency authorised one of his senior media aides, Doyin Okupe, to make further claims that the military had sighted the missing girls.
Okupe, in the CNN interview monitored in Abuja, said the girls had been located but did not say where they were.
Meanwhile, the US who have provided air surveillance and logistics support to rescue the Chibok school girls is angry with the revelation made by the CDS as the US could not confirm the claim while saying they would prefer to bring out the girls before making any statement.
I agree with the U.S...(Osama Bin Laden on my mind). Indeed we are yet to see the nearend of this sad event.
All we are saying....#BRINGBACKOURGIRLS
