This is a 70year old man who lives with his aged mother and was dealt this blow by sheer compassion. Baba Tso would have refused to offer help to this agile unsuspecting young man, he did and alas. Read below, the story as narrated by a boundless woman who has taken baba's case up to offer him succor and support....after the cut.
I pride myself as a strong person, emotionally and mentally but what I
saw today has left me shattered, I feel like a knife is permanently
stuck in my heart and is twisted at intervals.
I arrived Adikpo at about 4pm with Sir Brahmz Tor-Ikyuan, we picked IS
my tagteam up at Peace Garden and headed to St Monica's Hospital where
Baba Iulun Tso,a victim of ritual attack lies writhing in pain, more of a
mental kind than physical.
He has had his eyes gouged out by an identifiable young man whom he refers to as ' angbian kpa u hen ya u gen'
..... Nenge ase ne va heen kpa ka kwagh u me nenge aven me fa ga,ka liam
di tso' kwagh nyion mo ve i va hingir nahan ga,ashe ne kpa u ngue apir
ve iva lu nahan ga'.
He tries to wipe his eyes as he's sniffling, obviously weeping but no
tears come out because his tear glands have been ripped out by a
heartless young man for 400 thousand naira!(N400,000.00)
'Ka ishima yam ibo ne i ne kwagh ne a erem ye(a cynic reference to his
action as a result of the goodness of his heart).... Or genegh yange man
nan hule un sha, kpa yange a zamber a mo ngeelegh man m dondo un.
He regrets that he should have gone in to sleep at about the time his
mother did, this is a 70 year old man without a wife or child, lives with
his aged mother whom he says' yange ngom una lu a nyor gayo yange man
ungwa, shaciu wen ka a uva je a pine'.
He gives a vivid and lucid account of how the attack happened,he pauses to sob, recounting how the young man lured him.
'Yange va er agugu vihi un yo mza wase un u nengen, mkaa me me na un usu
kpa a zamber a mo ngeelegh yo man mdondo un. Se mba ze duoor yo akaa er
wen soo ape panden mngerem man mkaa mlu yemen sha hemen man a za va ken
jime man sendem ave hen ikyegh.
Clearly taken unawares, he tries to struggle but what strength has a
70year old over a young man? Maybe more agile and sporty. ' Mkela fa
kwagh u mlu kelegh ga,yange er kwagh u soo la a mo,shighe kpuwaa yo mva
kav iyol yam mgba peven mhen me mngu ken iyough, mza uwegh sha ityough
kia gambe me me too toochi(torchlight) kpa m peven yo lu toho man m gba
kpelan yemen man mhide m yav hen toho, shighe ne yo awambe lu senen mo
sha ishigh haan ken zwa......
Pa Iulun Tso was rescued by his neighbours who heard his cry for help and came out and took him home.
This man had his eyes gouged out was left with no medical attention since Sunday was only taken to the hospital on Friday!
Today, my tagteam IS after we discussed yesterday was able to secure a
donor who's blood was screened and as we speak is being transfused and
tomorrow a doctor will come to see him and popssibly make a referral to
the BSUTH.
We have just left the Honourable Chairman u Kwande LGC who has
magnanimously offered to give an ambulance to take Baba to Makurdi for
proper medical care. My tien Chair, only God will bless and keep you!
Let us keep Baba in our prayers and also support the Kwande LGC to ensure that Baba is back on his feet.
Aunty Waren and Mummy Tess,we are also making arrangements to bring Baba
Iulun's mother to Makurdi, please make room in your Old People's home
for Mama Tso.
Thank you all in anticipation of your support, we are Makurdi bound now.
Inyareghdoo.
Inyareghdoo, God bless you, your tagteam Iorliam Shija and Sir Brahms who have committed time, resources and energy to baba's cause. Keep being boundless and may you never lack resources, energy nor time to achieve great heights.
One love.
